CW1128, CW1198, CW1308 & CW1308B Cables

Our British Telecom (BT) approved CW1128, CW1198 and CW1308 telephone cables are primarily designed for the connection of telephone equipment. They are also suitable for use with other communication industry equipment and control or low-level signalling applications.

CW1128 cable and CW1128/CW1198 cable specification

CW1128 cables are designed to withstand weather conditions from snow and heavy rain to direct sunlight. CW1128 cables provide for UV and moisture-resistance by being bedded in Petroleum Jelly (hence their popular reference as jelly-filled cable) and sheathed in tough, durable Polyethylene (PE). BT-approved cable. For outdoor applications where additional protection against environmental factors is required, including direct burial of cabling, the CW1128/CW1198 duct grade telecom cable has a Galvanised Steel Wire Armour (GSWA) offering mechanical protection. CW1308 cable specification

The CW1308 is the most commonly used BT-specification interior cable. The CW1308 is designed to be lightweight and can be clipped to walls or run through ducting. The standard variant of this CW1308 cable is available with a PVC outersheath but an LSZH sheathed variant makes it suitable for use in commercial and industrial properties and high-footfall internal areas. BT-approved cable.

CW1308 will be the cable commonly seen in domestic premises, providing landline connections and running to additional telephone points within the home.

The CW1308B cables' Al/PE screen makes it suitable for outdoor use. BT-approved cable.
