G7250 Cable

The London Underground Approved G7250 cables are for signalling applications with a voltage rating of 0.65/1.1kV.

G7250 Cable Specification Type D1, D2, E1, E2

The G7250 cable has four types - Type D1 and E1 are single core unscreened cables. Type D2 and E2 are single core and multicore variants but with the addition of a metallic screen. They all have flexible Class 5 tinned copper conductors. Their Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) sheathing makes them suitable for use in tunnels and underground across the London Underground network.

Multicore cables have a screen constructed from a double layer of Aluminium laminate tape, the inner tape with the metallic side out, the outer tape with it facing inwards, with the drain wires between the tape in full metallic contact.

This range of signalling cables has a temperature rating of -15^oC to +85^oC.

It should be noted that the LUL G7250 signalling cables differ from the Network Rail signalling Type D2 & E2 specification cables (NR/PS/SIG/00005). There is strict control over the cables that can be installed on each network - but for other rail networks these may be considered.
