Type 260 Flexible Rubber Mining Cables

Some mining cable applications require additional mechanical protection and the Type 260 cable with its layer of pliable galvanised steel wire armour can provide this. Predominantly used as an armoured feeder cable solution in opencast applications, it can also be used as the feeder cable to machinery such as transportable mining substations in sand mining.

Type 260 Mining Cable Voltage Rating

The Type 260 cable is available in voltages of 1.1kV (Type 260.1) 3.3kV (Type 260.3), 6.6kV (Type 260.6) and 11kV (Type 260.11).

As with all mining cables, the Type 260 is a robust cable designed with the rigours of the mine environment in mind - Ethylene Propylene Rubber insulation and heavy-duty, oil resistant Polychloroprene sheathing. The cable is provided as a 3-core construction with a central pilot core laid up on a cradle separator. The overall tinned copper braid screen acts as the earth conductor in this configuration.

This cable is manufactured to adhere to Standards Australia / Standards New Zealand AS/NWS 1125, AS/NZS 1802:2003, AS/NZS 3808 and AS/NZS 5000.1 and will be in use and specified around the world in mining industry projects overseen by Australian operators.

The Type 260 cable offers additional strength and protection but at the expense of flexibility - it may be that an alternate cable may be more suited to your individual application.
