XHIORE, XHIO1RE, LXHIORE & LXHIO1RE Cables

Named using the Portuguese cable designations, the XHIORE, XHIO1RE, LXHIORE & LXHIO1RE Cables are armoured medium voltage cables in a range of voltages between 3.6/6kV and 18/30kV.

XHIORE & LXHIORE Cable Specifications

These Copper (prefixed with 'X') and Aluminium (prefixed with 'LX') conductor cables with a copper wire screen, have either SWA Steel Wire Armour for the three-core configurations - referenced as XHIORE and LXHIORE. The single core variants have AWA Aluminium Wire Armour to avoid creating magnetic eddy currents, and are named XHIO1RE and LXHIO1RE. 

XHIORE, XHIO1RE, LXHIORE & LXHIO1RE Cables are PE (Polyethylene) sheathed, offering a robust, abrasion resistant outer layer well-suited to external installations, including where direct buried. Using PE as sheathing means these cables can sit in ducts including those that become temporarily waterlogged. They are also UV resistant. However, Polyethylene is not flame retardant so where this is a consideration the XHIORV cables with PVC sheathing may be appropriate.

All our Medium Voltage cables are extensively tested in our MV testing facility, under our ISO 17025 lab accreditation to confirm quality and compliance. Extensive technical support is available to customers, along with guidance on cable accessories including terminations and cleats. Where appropriate, Portuguese language support is also available from the International team.
