Eland Cables recognised for testing capabilities under IECEE CB Scheme

Eland Cables testing facility, The Cable Lab®, has added IECEE CB Testing Laboratory (CBTL) status to its list of world-class accreditations. They join only a handful of other cable testing laboratories worldwide, giving them the ability to test cables on behalf of BSI under the IECEE CB Scheme.

Eland Cables has long held ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory status, the gold standard for testing facilities, but this new accolade further recognises their commitment to cable compliance.

The International Electrotechnical Committee (IEC) operate the IEC System of Conformity Assessment Schemes for Electrotechnical Equipment and Components (IECEE).  The CB Scheme acts as a passport for international market access, certifying products including electrical cables against IEC standards.

With many countries preferring to specify to IEC rather than national standards for electrical engineering installations – for availability, standardisation or operational reasons – having formal certification to these standards offers valuable assurances of quality and compliance.
