The BSI Kitemark is recognised the world over as representing quality, trust and reliability. BSI Kitemark testing on cables offers an unparalleled level of quality assurance. Eland Cables’ technical experts worked closely with the team at the British Standards Institution to develop this important new third-party certification mark.

Paul Turner, Product Certification Manager at BSI, says, “ BSi were developing a pilot scheme and Eland approached us at a really good time. The Cable Verification Kitemark was created in demand from industry to be able to demonstrate that the product meets the required quality and safety standards that surround it. Eland have developed the capability to demonstrate to their clients that they meet these quality standards and safety standards.”

To hold this Kitemark, the cable must undergo extensive testing in a UKAS accredited facility, measured against British and European standards. Cable undergo rigorous testing across core sizes and configurations to test each component constructional layer. In achieving the Kitemark it demonstrates the cable meets relevant performance safety standards – essentially, giving independent verification that it does exactly what it should do.
