With a local supplier unable to support the project timelines, the project team and local system integrator looked to Eland Cables to assist.
Our technical support in selecting the right cable – recommending an EN 50288-7 standard instrumentation cable over the original specification – was key in keeping this project on schedule. We achieved the required approvals on a tight timeline with evidence of ISO 17025 accredited test reports supplied by The Cable Lab.
The approved cable was for internal installation, so an unarmoured low smoke zero halogen construction was selected, with metallic screening to avoid electromagnetic interference. This instrumentation cable is part of our core stockholding so was available, even in the long lengths required, from stock.
The cable was swiftly packaged and exported to site, with the added advantage that this change to the project specification will allow for better availability of cable in the future should maintenance or further expansion be required.
